For 20+ years native Washingtonian Dawn Ellington’s skillful hands have had the privilege of transforming many diverse tresses of hair. From celebrities, award winning journalists, to stay at home moms; her goal is always the same, to make them each feel beautiful!
Dawn is the sole proprietor and lead stylist of The Dawn, a boutique salon located in Washington, DC. Since 2004, the salon provided a chic, eclectic décor with a relaxed vibe. Dawn is well known for her precision cuts, meticulous styling and professional hair care. Dawn provides personal one on one service to each of her clients from beginning to end.
Dawn is involved in many philanthropic projects and uses her salon as a catalyst and vessel for change to provide various needed community services. She has participated in countless community programs and events along with starting her own nonprofit organization, the Little Brown Girls Foundation. Dawn’s goal is to inspire, encourage and empower little girls and young ladies within our community.

PROM EVENT
The Dawn partners with local schools and selects a young woman for a Cinderella like experience. The winner receives all the prom essentials: dress, shoes, hair, make-up, dinner and limo service.

During the holiday season, The Dawn helps parents place smiles on their children's faces by providing gifts.

DONATIONS
The Dawn annually joins forces with local churches and organizations to donate school supplies for children of all ages.
HELPING THE DISPLACED
The Dawn staff and clients hit the streets to visit the displaced and provide meals and toiletries.
